BrassNeck perform 'Little Women' November 2014

Following the rave reviews of their last production, The Wedding Singer, BrassNeck are once again busy rehearsing for what is sure to be another hit, the new Broadway musical version of the all-time classic novel – Little Women.

Based on Louisa May Alcott’s own family experiences (and novel), Little Women follows the adventures of Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March as they grow up in Civil War America. The beloved story of the March sisters is timeless and deals with issues as relevant today as when they were written. Now, this wonderful narrative has been brought to life as an exhilarating new musical filled with glorious music, dancing and heart. Little Women embodies the complete theatrical experience, guaranteeing a night filled with laughter, tears, and a lifting of the spirit. This powerful score soars with the sounds of personal discovery, heartache and hope—the sounds of a young America finding its voice.

BrassNeck has a growing reputation for pure quality with theatrical audiences.  Recent smash-hit productions have included – Fiddler on the Roof, The Full Monty, Avenue Q, Whistle Down the Wind and The Producers.  With this reputation comes a pressure to produce fantastic theatre with the right casts. With this in mind BrassNeck have managed to pull together some of the finest talent in the area for the classic tale of Little Women.  Lisa Simpson will be taking on the pivotal role of Jo fresh from her acclaimed performance of Julia in The Wedding Singer. Jo’s sisters, Meg, Beth and Amy are played by seasoned performers Helen Wrigglesworth, Brogan Hollindrake and Lydia Bradd, with Marmee being portrayed by Laura Judge.  Helen, Lydia & Laura were last seen on stage together in BrassNeck’s ground-breaking production of Fiddler on the Roof.  Brogan makes her debut for BrassNeck Theatre and brings a wealth of theatrical experience.  Christine Castle, Ben Tomlinson, Chris Slater, Phil Yeadon and Steve Jamieson make up the strong supporting cast alongside the exceptional Company that has become a hallmark of BrassNeck productions.

A combination of Louisa May Alcott’s beautiful tale and the directorial prowess of Royston Bayfield alongside Musical Director Tom Kyle is set to create an incredible atmosphere at Yeadon Town Hall when the production runs from 11 – 15 November 2014.  Tickets are on sale now and can be booked online here or by calling the box office on 0113 2505011.
